App Information
App Information is a must-review area: privacy contact, support URL, age rating, copyright, and category must all be accurate. Any vagueness can become a rejection reason.
Required Fields
| Field | Description | Common pitfall |
|---|---|---|
| Name / Subtitle | Store display name and subtitle | Keep consistent with creation; avoid frequent renames |
| Primary/Secondary Category | Primary/secondary category | Don’t mislead users; affects ranking and exposure |
| Content Rights & Copyright | Copyright holder | Third-party content needs authorization proof |
| App Review Contact | Review contact email/phone | Must be real and reachable |
| Support URL / Marketing URL | Support/marketing URLs | Must be accessible and relevant to the app |
| Privacy Policy URL | Privacy policy link | Required; keep it long-lived |
Age Rating
- Answer the questionnaire honestly: violence, adult content, gambling, unreviewed, etc.
- Setting it too low while containing sensitive features gets rejected; if the app has WebView external links, assess external content risk.
- Rating affects availability and promotion in some regions.
Answer the age rating questionnaire truthfully. Don’t lower it to make the app available to minors. Apple spot-checks; false declarations can lead to removal or account risk.
App Privacy
- Fill in privacy nutrition labels: what data you collect, purpose, whether linked to the user, and whether used for tracking.
- If you integrate third-party SDKs (analytics, ads, push), declare the data they collect too.
- If you declare “no tracking”, confirm you haven’t integrated tracking SDKs (e.g. certain ad SDKs).
Localization
- Add multiple languages for name, subtitle, description, keywords; falls back to the primary language.
- Screenshots and promotional text should also be localized to improve conversion.
- Prioritize localization for target markets (English, Japanese, German, etc.).
Tips
- Use long-lived domains for support and privacy URLs to avoid 404s.
- If the app has accounts/login, provide a Demo account or review notes.
- Keep contact info stable; reviewers may need to reach you by phone.
Self-Check List
- Name / subtitle / category finalized
- Support URL, marketing URL, privacy policy URL reachable

- Age rating answered truthfully

FAQ
- Does the privacy policy need its own domain? It can point to your own site; the key is a long-lived link with complete content.
- Does renaming affect ranking? There is short-term impact; finalize the name early to reduce renames.
- How do I provide a Demo account? Write the test account, password, and test steps in App Review Notes.
